Automatic Update Checking

Mail Merge and Word Processor (IPWord) Enhancements

  • Improved Print Merge throughput rate by up to 30%.
  • New fields available! You can now use the information from your User Setup with IPWord.
    If you change your personal information in the User Setup, your letters will automatically pick up the changes!
  • Enhanced ability to resume a merge if it was suspended or stopped.
  • Ability to easily process any or all previously unprocessed records.
    This is great, for example, if you wish to send a letter to records that you could not email to or that didn't qualify for refi quote.
  • Help prevent embarrassing mistakes in your mailings. IPWord now gives you the option to:
    • Halt if an inserted field in your document is missing.
    • Skip records with blank merge fields from your Manager
  • IPWord now warns you when you attempt to perform a merge on a blank letter!
  • Improved tracking of Refi-Calculation records when minimum savings level is not satisfied.
  • Custom Calculations features have been redesigned to handle more complex calculations, prevent duplicate entries and provide overwriting verifications.
  • The "Select Number of Records to Print" dialog now displays the number of printable (i.e.non-deleted records) from your manager, not the total record count.
  • Fixed the drifting header/footer/body problem that occurred on some systems if letter contained an empty field (the record being merged had no data for that field).
  • Fixed field formatting problems in the Farm and Contact Managers with:
    • YR_BUILT, TFR_VAL, ASSD_VAL, FIRST_TD, SECOND_TD, LAND_VAL

Instant Impact! comes with a variety of tools to help get you up and running if you should experience system problems. For example:

  • FIXDLLs, Instant Impact!s system file conflict analyzer and repair program, has been updated.
  • "Send Tech Support Info" - quickly and easily send program trouble information over the Internet to Information Products' Tech Support.

Enhanced Expanded Nets Sheets

  • 'Sales Price' and 'Down Payment' values are now saved when you save the net sheet or create a new net sheet using "Save As".
  • Data is now retained when switching between tabs.
  • Fixed updating and synchronizing issues that could occur when switching tabs or when saving the Net Sheet.

Information Manager Enhancements

  • More printing flexibility! When printing from the File Menu you can now select the printing range! For example start printing at record 37 and print 75 letters.
  • Email directly from the File Menu! You can select to send an email to the currently selected record or a range of records!
  • Enhanced date format support. Date field format in Browser Tab mirrors your system's regional settings display preferences.
  • Update Append now checks data incompatibilities between the existing data and the incoming data to be appended. If there is a problem Instant Impact! will warn you and ask you if you wish to continue. If you continue the incoming data will be formatted (if possible) to the current format.
  • Palm Pilot Export - corrected problem where site city was being exported into mail city.

TitleNet Enhancements

  • TitleNet has been streamlined and enhanced for faster more reliable Internet connectivity.

Instant Impact! GOLD Enhancements

  • Expanded email support. With Instant Impact! GOLD you can send emails with embedded images! Your emails will be seen as you intended with NO confusing attachments!

Changes in 5.03

New Smart Search control setting and behavior

  • New master setting at Main Screen under Help/Options/Enable Smart Search.
    • When not checked (not enabled) searches will work the same way as they did in 4.1 and previous versions of Instant Impact!
  • Improved smart search behavior - smart search now remembers last column searched on during that session and will not automatically rebuild smart search indexes for subsequent searches on same column.

Import Wizard changes

  • Data with .TXT extension is now automatically checked to see if it is TAB or Pipe "|" delimited. Note that if first line in file contains no data or invalid data the Import Wizard will treat data as ASCII Comma Delimited.
  • Improved verification - if you try to save an "empty" template you now receive a warning.
  • Fixed problem that occurred when previous Import Wizard session converted data from removable drive or from directory that no longer exits.

Reports & Labels improvements

  • All Managers - File/Print (or Print Preview)/5162 label
    Fixed problem where in some cases the 5162 label was not installed.
  • Farm Manager - fixed problem where Print/Other Label failed to preview or print.

On-Line Update Checking

  • Easily check for the program updates by going to the Main Menu - and opening menu item Modules/On-line Update. TitleNet now comes up and automatically checks for available update and if no update is found returns to Instant Impact!.

Help - updated & Help links fixed

  • Updated to reflect latest changes in program.
  • Help links fixed in Main Screen/ Hot Topics re:Printing Bar Codes
  • Copying Records to CMA screen Help button - now brings up proper info.

Windows 95a compatibility fix

  • Fixed problem where Instant Impact 5.0 through 5.02 would get "path not found error" when run on PC with Windows 95a (initial Window 95 release).

Fix for missing QRY_CALC.MDB

  • Previously if QRY_CALC.MDB had been deleted from the \Fmswin\Contact directory it would not be reinstalled on an upgrade or reinstallation.

Changes in 5.02

Improved handling of DBF files

  • When viewing a DBF farm
    o If a MDB is created it will now reside in the Fmswin\Database directory.
    Previously the MDB file would have been created in the same directory as the DBF file.
    o When MDB file by same name already exists and you opt to rename, you now view the new (renamed) farm not the old MDB with the same name as the DBF.
  • Instant Impact! Gold - can now load older 4.x and 3.x DBF formats directly without using Import Wizard.

Instant Impact! is ready for the future!

  • Instant Impact! 5.0 was created in Windows 2000/XP and is compatible with Windows 95, 98, ME, NT, 2000 and Windows XP operating systems.
  • All known Instant Impact! 4.x issues with Windows NT and Windows 2000 have been eliminated!

Quickly Identify your Prospects with the new "Classification" Column

  • In the Farm or Contact Manager color code your records. Red for Hot, Blue for Cold!
  • You now have nine (9) different possible levels of color classification to show prioritization, status or whatever you choose!
    • Using Classification, you can query for your Hot or Cold prospects to call or send letters.
    • Use Classification to find your prospects quickly by grouping or querying.

Notes Field Capacity Increased as much as 850%!

  • The Notes field capability, in all Managers, has been increased to 30,000 characters!
    Windows 95 holds 850% more information, Windows 2000 has been increased more than 600%!

Searching Your Database just got easier!

  • "Smart Search" keeps track of the record(s) position when you search your database!

Import Wizard Enhancements & Additions

  • Import Wizard now saves your settings (template chosen and location of data file)!
  • In addition to our existing Import Wizard templates such as Act, NiteOwl and Palm Pilot we have added templates for:
    • Outlook: You can now import your contacts from Outlook 98 or Outlook 2000.
    • Outlook Express: You can now import from Outlook Express 2000.
    • GoldMine: You can now import data directly from GoldMine.

New Query Builder Features!

  • Enhanced Pre-Defined Queries:
    • Instant Impact! now has over 50 Pre-defined Queries!
    • Rewritten and reorganized - makes it easier to find the Query that you need!
    • Easy to use, easy to customize!

  • Similar Properties:
    • Find properties that have similar features based on the currently selected record.
      Example: Select a property, open query builder. Select Similar Properties button.
      Program will show records with similar Bed, Bath, Building SQ FT, Listing Price or Transfer Value within a range.

Database Maintenance Module

  • Selectively repair system and farm databases with ease, individually or as a group.
  • Records when you last repaired system databases.
  • Enhanced handling for History and Refi Log databases allow you to control the size of these referential system databases, which may enhance your data processing.
    • Remove records by log date, association or completely delete contents to keep these databases manageable.

Working with Images has Never Been Easier

  • Improved JPG support with better handling of digital camera images and nonstandard JPG files in:
    • "Load image from Disk".
    • User Setup - User Picture in the Images Tab.
    • User Setup - Company Logo in the Images Tab.
    • Farm Manager - Images/Notes Tab.
    • Multimedia Icon in all managers.
  • Expanded number of image formats that can be converted. Now includes GIF and TIF.
  • IPWord (the word processor) can now directly handle JPG images.
    • Enhanced Image tracking.
    • When you associate an image with a property, the image follows that property to any Manager! If you move, copy, update/append, merge properties, the image remains with the property.
    • New Multimedia Window features
      • The name of the image or video is now displayed under the image.
      • Help button added to screen for instant assistance.
Enhancements in Exporting Data for the Palm Pilot
  • Contact Manager - Phone Cap fields now match the phone fields in the Palm Pilot.
  • City/State information is now placed into separate fields.
  • Corrected issue where Site Address information was mapped to Country now mapped to Custom 1.

Improved Printing

  • Reports & Labels now apply numeric formatting to all numeric fields.
  • The 'Number to Print' box is now more interactive and intuitive.
    • Enter the number to start printing and it automatically calculates the remaining records.
  • Fixed problem with Reports & Labels printing YR_BUILT in non-farm Managers with comma (i.e. 1,998 instead of 1998).

IPWORD - Word Processing Enhancements

  • Can now directly handle JPG images.
  • Enhanced formatting for Salutation field: If the Salutation field is blank, you do not need to remove it from a merge letter, it will automatically format accordingly!
  • New Keyboard shortcuts:
    • Cut (Ctrl + X), Find (Ctrl +F), Find & Replace (Ctrl + G), & Undo (Ctrl + Z).
  • Most Recently Used Documents (MRU) List:
    • The bottom of the IPWord's File menu will list the last four documents used with the top item being the most recently used of the four.
    • You can now open any document on the MRU list by clicking on its name.

Enhanced Database Utilities

  • Using the Copy File menu function from the Main Screen, the program now shows the names of the items as they are being copied. A busy cursor will also be displayed.
  • Merge Farms (Main Screen) no longer allows the name of the new farm to be the same name as one of the farms being merged. This prevents loss of data from your original farms.

New & Enhanced Database Functions help you Manage Your Data More Efficiently

  • Enhanced Global Replace:
    • New handling for empty fields, you can now:
      • Fill empty fields with specified text.
      • Zap fields containing specified text.
    • Enhanced direct field replacement (replace contents of one field with another).
  • Enhanced data protection and integrity checks.
    • Update/Append has been improved to properly handle non-English characters such as ñ, ü, or é (browser supports any MS Sans Serif font).
    • Data Protection system prevents accidental deletion of standard fields that could crash the Information Manager.
    • Merging or updating databases have new integrity checks to prevent the creation of databases with more than 190 fields, which is the maximum number of fields a database can contain.
  • Easier Data Navigation - Improved Keyboard Response
    • When editing a field in the top section or first tab of an Information Manager, pressing 'Enter' will automatically take you to the next field (same behavior as pressing the 'Tab' key). This makes creating new records quick and easy!
  • Enhanced Functionality when adding records or using "Re-key Database."
    • New APN (Assessors Parcel Number) generation process prevents duplication for added records, even between databases that have been created on different computers! APN field is used to uniquely identify records; farms from your title company should contain an APN.
    • When you add a new blank record, or use the Rekey function, to create an APN for records missing an APN, a "Manufactured" APN is generated, which starts with the character "§" for easy identification

New & Enhanced Browser Functions give you More Control & Better Functionality
      Stop searching for the field you need in the browser tab

  • New Anchor Setting for All Managers!
    • You can independently set the Anchor field in each Manager (Farm, Contact, Listing, Closing & in Instant Impact! Gold, the CMA Manager).
    • When you select an anchor field, it will be a field that is always visible when you open any of the managers.
    • In the Farm Manager the anchor field will apply to all farms opened
      Note: This applies to Standard Farm Fields. Results may be different with User Defined Fields.
    • The Anchor feature is distinct from the layout feature and works in conjunction with it.
  • Sorts are now saved in ALL managers! Even reverse sorts and sorts on date fields!
  • Easier Data Navigation - Improved Keyboard Response
    • Keyboard functions have been rewritten to be FAST, STABLE and make data entry EASIER!
    • In the Browser tab of any Manager you can use your keyboard to easily scroll vertically or horizontally through your data! Using the Up, Down, Left, Right, PageUp, or PageDown keys you can quickly move through your database.

New and Enhanced Tools to Help you Track Information

  • Enhanced Campaigns system (Farm Manager only).
    • New "Campaign Maintenance" and "Show Active Campaigns" layouts show you all the important details. This helps you more quickly find the information you need.
    • Improved screen designs make Campaigns easier to use and more intuitive.
  • New "Auto-update LAST_CONT" feature:
    • Inserts today's date in the LAST_CONT (last contact) field when you print or use the dialer function.

Enhanced Integrity Handling for Large Databases

Improvements increase program speed and reliability. This new release additionally resolved the following:

  • Eliminated the "Error 6-Overflow"error message that occurred when using various Database Tool menu options on farms larger than 33,000 records.
  • Corrected issue where record counter would get set to "501" when using a query.
  • Corrected issue when running a query where record counter showed the total number of records in the database, rather than the number of records in the query.

Contact Manager Enhancements

  • Title field expanded to 36 characters
  • Records copied from a Farm to the Contact Manager, will now show the originating farm name in the FARMFILE field.
  • New Classification field for color coding your prospects! See Item 2 on this list of 5.0 enhancements.

Closing Manager More Information Module Enhancements

The More Information Module (launched from the Information tab by clicking on the 'More Information' button) has been rewritten.

  • Improved field validation and integrity checks protect you against common input errors.
  • Improved navigation makes it easy to move between fields and enter or edit data.
  • Notes field capacity increased to 30,000 characters.

New User Setup Module

  • An easy to use, intuitive interface for setting up Instant Impact!
  • Makes registering your program or updating your registration information quick and easy.
  • Signup for "The Better Way" email newsletter containing program tips and information.

TitleNet Enhancements

  • Checking for Online Updates is now easier and more intuitive.
  • Status Messages keep you posted on how your download or upload is proceeding.
  • Better error handling, fewer on-line problems.
  • New "Update" button - makes checking for updates easy and intuitive
  • Improvements in handling Online Updates, which include:
    • The ability to resume an interrupted download.
    • The ability to easily cancel the downloading of an update.

Additional Enhancements

  • Goal Settings in the Financial Assistant : Calculations have been improved and made more robust.
  • If you accidentally launch Instant Impact! , IPWord or other modules a second time, the already open program is located and restored.
  • Improved handling for higher screen resolutions - program has been tested with screen resolutions as high as 1600x1200.
  • New Screen Snap - restores size, dimension and position of Managers!
  • Modules have been redesigned to prevent accidentally minimizing or resizing the module.

IPNetMail Enhancements
New options for choosing/modifying your email settings:

  • E-mail Display Name: The name your recipient will see as the sender.
  • E-mail ReplyTo Address: If you want a reply sent to a different email address.
  • E-mail ReplyTo Display Name: The name that will be shown for the reply email.
  • New setting controls:
    • "This Session Only" - use your specified setting for the current session only; changes are not saved.
    • "Revert" - reloads the currently saved settings.
